Senior Oracle Database Administrator

- Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize the performance of the databases, including query tuning and optimization.
- Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity and availability.
- Security Management: Implement and enforce database security policies, including user account management, data encryption, and auditing.
- High Availability: Design and implement high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions, including Data Guard, RAC, and ASM.
- Database Patching and Upgrades: Plan and execute database patching and upgrades to maintain currency and supportability.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Capacity Planning: Monitor database storage and performance metrics to plan for future capacity needs.
- Scripting and Automation: Develop and maintain scripts for database management and automation tasks using shell scripting, PL/SQL, and other relevant tools.
- Collaboration: Work closely with application developers, system administrators, and other SITA and Customer staff to support application development and deployment.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.
QualificationsEXPERIENCEAt least 7 years experience in Oracle DBA, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.KNOWLEDGE & SKILLSPROFESSION COMPETENCIES
- In-depth knowledge of Oracle Database architecture and components.
- Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL programming.
- Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and RMAN.
- Familiarity with database monitoring tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
- Strong understanding of operating systems (Linux, UNIX, Windows).
- Knowledge of cloud database services (e.g., Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
