Senior Operational Risk Manager

We’re seeking a passionate and motivated Operational Risk Manager to step up in the leadership capacity, overseeing and enhancing risk frameworks at a Corporate & Institutional Bank (APRA regulated). Leading a small team and report to the Chief Risk Officer, this role will ensure the effective implementation and operationalisation of risk policies, monitor compliance with APRA regulations (CPS 230, 234 & 235), and provide strategic direction for all operational risk activities.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee, maintain and update operational risk frameworks, policies and procedures.
• Oversee and report on the Risk Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) processes and findings.
• Business partnering – assist with developing risk profiles and incident management.
• Monitor risk limits and assess risk in new products and business initiatives.
• Guide IT risk compliance aligned with APRA standards.
• Assist the Chief Risk Officer with process improvements, regulatory engagements and Risk Committee reporting
• Manage team performance and support ongoing staff development.

Skill Requirements:

• 5+ years’ experience in operational risk roles within banking, preferably as 2LoD.
• Up-to-date knowledge of APRA regulations which are applicable to a corporate banking institution, especially CPS230
• Tertiary qualified.
• Consultative and influential stakeholder management skills.
